Season 3: City of the Three Suns

 Ch.1 Aethelgard Cityport of Adventure

Two enormous statues of armored paladins, perhaps heroes of Aethelgard's past, flank the entrance. Their helms are etched with intricate designs, and their hands rest on the pommels of longswords that seem to gleam with an inner light. The gate itself is constructed from a dark, adamantine metal that appears impregnable.

Everywhere you look, there are signs of Aethelgard's prosperity and power.  Grand fountains sculpted from white marble gurgle merrily in central squares.  Temple spires pierce the sky, their bells chiming a melodic tune.  Towers of ivory rise from the heart of the city, housing  academies renowned throughout the land. Yet, there's a subtle undercurrent of  military might as well.  Soldiers in polished breastplates  march in disciplined formations, and watchtowers manned by vigilant guards  dot the city walls.

The party went for a short rest at The Gilded Dragon. Garet and Grok were greeted by an old acquaintance from their tomb robber days, Frederigo Buch. They descended to the "under-city" following Buch's instructions and had to face a series of obstacles and traps.

Ch2. Gladiators

Grok, Venrika and Garet volunteered for an area team battle. They fought a Troll in the arena.

The Silver Raven showed up and joined in on the side of the party.

On victory, their "brows are bound with wreaths" and got a gold award as well as an invitation to meet the Duke's brother, Lord Lucius.

Ch.3 Can't make an omelette...

Giant eggs appeared on the docks overnight.  Powerful monsters hatched from the eggs and caused bloody mayhem. Venrika and Drongforth lay down missile attacks on them while Grok and Garet got into melee. Grok got burned by the fiery blood of one of the creatures.

Ch.4 Rudely Stamped

The party received an invitation delivered by a dragonkin Warlock, Zalaskar

The party dined with Lord Lucius. He gave a speech from the balcony, revealing a huge statue of the Duke. He explained how they are are at peace but he "hates the idle pleasures of these days." And that he had a plan that would require the help of the party ("plots have i laid, inductions dangerous"). He paid them to retrieve a magic artifact from a secret chamber in the Temple.

Ch.5 Tomb of the Mecha-men

The party were accompied by two of Lucius's men, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. They found a secret passage in the Temple. It led to a flooded subterranean chamber with a suspended walkway leading to metal doors. The party are ambushed by metal spiders. Rosencrantz was lost to a spider bite. The party reached the door and grok received an electric shock from the metal handle of the door.

They entered a large chamber with row after row of coffins.

Guildenstern operated the controls which caused mechanical men to rise from the coffins. The first of these mecha-men said "you belong to us. You will become like us."
Guildenstern told the mechamen to enter the service of Aethelgard but they zapped him with electricity.
The party attacked, dropping one of the metal men but Grok was zapped and dragged off by the men.
The party were held captive but Grok reawakened and rampaged through the mechamen while Garet held the staircase allowing the magic users to bombard safely. Zalaskar unleashed "Unlimited power!"

Drongforth's mirror glowed green and a cloaked figure appeared out of nowhere. She pulled her hood back to reveal a mohawked Dwarf who is the splitting image of venrika.

"Hi kids. This, is where it gets complicated"

She told them to travel to Endersley to find the wizard Sinar. She conjured a tiny, flying fairy with Grok's head who led them to exit to street level before disappearing. The party decided to leave the city.

Ch. 6 City of Thieves

Garet: yep. That's me

The party arrived at Port Blood. Drongforth and Venrika were sick with a mysterious sickness. Garet, Grok and Zalaskar headed into the city to get help. They visited a bookshop called "Booke and Quill", a front for The Order of the Quill, a thieves guild specialising in the trade of information. They met with a bespectacled man, Frederigo Booke. He granted them audience with Master Tiberius Quill.  In exchange for a cure to the sickness, he asked the party to recover an artifact from a rival thieves guild, The Rat King's Crew.

And so we got back to Garet suspended by a rope with archers shooting at him.

Christmas Special

The party stopped at a tavern in Haven. While they enjoyed supper, they heard a mysterious ringing of tiny bells. "Can you hear what I hear?" They discovered that the whole inn transported to a winter wonderland beseiged by Christmas Black Puddings, Naughty Elf archers and, ultimately, the Krampus.

Venrika opened a giant gift wrapped box and found a magic Christmas hat. Whatever mysterious force brought the party to the winter world, abruptly sent them back to Haven.
